How to play Futoshiki

Futoshiki means "inequality" in Japanese. Fill the grid so each row and column has every number once, while obeying the signs.

The rules

  1. In a grid of size n, each row and column contains 1 to n once.
  2. A sign between two cells shows which one is bigger: the open side faces the bigger number.
  3. Some numbers are given to start you off.

Playing on LogicBright

A cell that is smaller than its neighbor can’t be n; a bigger cell can’t be 1.

Follow chains of signs: a < b < c means a is at most n−2.
