How to play Math Cages
A number puzzle that mixes logic with simple arithmetic, also known as Calcudoku. Grids range from 4×4 to 7×7.
The rules
- In a grid of size n, each row and each column contains 1 to n once.
- Each outlined cage shows a target and an operation (+, −, × or ÷).
- The numbers in the cage must make the target using that operation. Numbers may repeat in a cage if they are not in the same row or column.

Playing on LogicBright
Start with single-cell cages: they are given numbers.
For − and ÷ cages (always two cells), list the pairs that work.
Cross-check each option with its row and column.
Tips
- A 2-cell ÷ cage with target 2 on a 4×4 grid can only be 1 and 2 or 2 and 4.
- Large × targets often contain the biggest numbers.
