How to play Sudoku

1. Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
2. Each row and each column must contain 1 to 9 once.
3. Each of the nine 3×3 boxes must also contain 1 to 9 once.

About Sudoku

The classic number puzzle. Every puzzle here has exactly one answer and can be solved by logic, with no guessing needed on Beginner to Medium.

This page starts you on Medium. Choose another level above at any time; your game is saved after every move, so you can come back later, even offline.

Tips

• Start with the rows, columns and boxes that are nearly full.
• Scan one number at a time across all nine boxes.
• On harder levels, use Notes in every empty cell before looking for pairs.

Questions

Does every puzzle have one answer?
Yes. Each puzzle is checked by the solver, which only accepts a puzzle with exactly one solution.

Is there a time limit?
No. The timer is hidden unless you turn it on in Settings, and it pauses when you leave.
